Summit, Illinois - Explorers Marquette and Joliet Monument Located at the entrance to the Portage Woods Forest Preserve is a 20-foot statue honoring explorers Louis Joliet and Jacques Marquette and their Native American guides for their work in establishing trade routes through the region.
