Captiva, Florida: The Bubble Room (In Transition)

Way out of the way, but that's probably why a time machine like The Bubble Room has survived. Ample goofy photo opportunities, including a Tunnel of Love. Banged up by Hurricane Ian in 2022, but working to reopen.

The Bubble Room

Best restaurant on the planet! Quirky atmosphere with orange crunch cake that melts in your mouth.

Bubble Room Gorilla.

The Bubble Room

A great place to take the kiddos, but the food left a lot to be desired. The cake wasn't really that great either. Stick with the simple stuff. However, the photo ops and visual appetizers still make it worthy of stop.

Absolutely worth the drive, hassle and toll bridge. Long drive to end of the island.

Also nearby (walking distance) is a small church that is open and a cemetery next door. Beach on other side of church and cemetery is awesome and open to the public as well.

The Bubble Room

A fascinating collection of kitsch. Three floors of memorabilia from the '30s, '40s and '50s. One room became Santa's workshop. One table is a trolley car. A great collection of statues of '40s entertainers from the Marx Brothers to Bogart and Jimmy Durante. The food is great too.
