Groom, Texas - Groom Giant Cross If the biblically illiterate person who posted the idiotic remarks about "pro-life propaganda" finds things that are pro-life offensive, what is he doing at a Christian display such at the magnificent one at Groom, Texas?
You have a right to be ignorant if you want to be, but don't be trampling on God's word with your ignorance. [Richard, 04/10/2009]
[RA: Enough about the pro-life display at the Groom cross! We should point out this is not a public or government funded "attraction," so it can display pretty much whatever the owner wants and local zoning allows. On the other hand, grand testaments to personal faith such as this are usually intended to be inclusive -- for everyone to visit -- even if there's slim chance all will have a similar epiphany!]
Groom, Texas - Groom Cross To use the word 'propaganda' to describe God's love for man and His work at the cross and the empty tomb is a bit off the mark. I saw the cross from I-40 in 2006 but did not stop. After looking at their website I knew I had to go back, which I did in June 2007. What an inspiring presentation of God's work at Calvary.
The marker in memory of the victims of abortion brought tears to my eyes, just as it apparently did to the young girl. [Bud Yarbrough, 03/26/2009]
Groom, Texas - Giant Cross I loved to always see this cross when I was a trucker. You could see it from 25 miles away. It was tiny and then it got bigger and bigger. By the way, what's wrong with the so called pro-life propaganda that someone said was at the base of the cross? The writer stated it made his 8 year old daughter cry. SOMEONE needs to cry for the aborted babies that have been murdered in this country. [Melvin Christopher, 08/16/2006]
Groom, Texas - 2nd Largest Cross in the Western Hemisphere Drove by many times on the way out west and never stopped. We stopped this time and it was well worth it. Didn't realize there was so much to see at the base of the cross -- all the stations of the cross in bronze and a plaque that describes each in bronze. Beautiful sight. They do not sell film at the gift shop. To buy film you have to drive into Groom - only 5 minutes away. [Don Kocsis, 09/09/2005][RA: Sept. 2005 - Tipster Ron Glantz writes: "Visitors with children should be warned about all of the pro-life propaganda around the cross... It made my 8-year-old daughter cry. It was five years ago."]
