On-A-Slant Indian Village
Gorgeous views of the Missouri River. "On-a-Slant Village," a Mandan Indian restored village -- very interesting guided tour (our guide was fabulous for the kids as well as adults), you can go into one of the dwellings and see and touch artifacts (authentic and reproduced).
There is also the fort and its buildings there, where people in period dress answer questions as if they were still of that time. General Custer's house is there too -- the actual house he left from to go to the Battle of Little Big Horn.
There are picnic tables but the snack bar isn't great. If you have kids, feed them on the way or bring your own. It's definitely worth a stop, though, with something for everyone.
