Middletown, Connecticut: Wild Bill's Nostalgia Center (Closed)

A farm silo turned into the World's Largest Jack-in-the-Box was just another freaky project for love child Wild Bill Ziegler. Then he died, and the place sold off its treasures and closed in Sep. 2018.

Wild Bill's Nostalgia Center

Wild Bill's Store is wonderful! Curated, organized, affordable fun! Vintage video games, concert posters, kitsch, collectibles, and memories. We spent a wonderful afternoon perusing the wares and left with some vintage MAD Magazines. Good times.

Wild Bill's Nostalgia Store

Amazing! It's wall to wall (and floor to ceiling) filled with things that are bound to make you go, "I remember this!" CDs, DVDs, tapes, old lunch boxes, toys, vintage clothes, albums, pornographic magazines (in the 18 and older section, of course) and so much more. Beyond the items for sale, the store is full of crazy statues and other things (such as funhouse mirrors) that make it fun to explore.

The outside is not to be missed, either. The entire exterior is painted up like an old carnival ride with monsters, creepy clowns, rock stars, and pop culture references. To the side of the store, the owner is currently restoring an old spooky fun house that looks amazing, and I cannot wait to go back to visit when it is open. The gentleman that we spoke with also said they plan to bring in more old carnival rides and restore them.

Wild Bill's Nostalgia Center

A fantastic shop stuffed with a variety of strange and wonderful stuff, ranging from scorpion necklaces to Magic 8 Ball telephones. It's hard to say what's more amazing -- the inside or the outside. The outside walls are adorned with celebrity icons (Hendrix, Marilyn Monroe) and side show art. There's also a VW bug sticking out of the front wall under a huge image of the man himself, Wild Bill.
