Fence of Boots Not worth the trip. It is a fence with boots on it. Don't bother if you're not already driving by.

Fence of Boots So many boots! Careful when stopping -- it's right around a corner.
[Karina L, 09/27/2012]This fence is actually a memorial/tribute to the owner's son, who died.
[Lulu, 12/03/2010]The Fence of Boots is located on California highway 49 (or Coloma Road) north of Placerville starting at Woodridge Road and heading north about 1/4 mile. The address of the property is 1079 California 49 and you can see the boots all along the west side of the road.
[Arthur Pent, 08/22/2010]I traveled on highway 49, through Cool, California, out of Auburn to Placerville. Just before reaching Placerville, on the left side of the road is a western ranch, where the owner obviously likes cowboy boots. On every fence post for perhaps a quarter mile and up the driveway, there are boots of every size and description. Big ones, baby ones and different colored ones, and very old, or worn. They probably stay through all seasons, as I have seen them several times before. The owner must have been collecting them for years.
