Visitor Tips and News About Large Snake Statue
The "snake statue" in Kit Carson Park was definitely a swing set; I swung on it as a child! The park had several other playground fixtures shaped like animals, although unfortunately I have no photos of them (The snake was the least attractive fixture...yet it's the one that survived?!). Sad to learn that they're gone now, but they were there well into the 1990s.[C.C., 07/18/2016]
Large Snake Statue
In the same park as Queen Califia's Magical Circle, visitors will find this huge snake statue looping in and out of the ground. It's concrete and sturdy enough to handle a passenger (though this is probably officially frowned upon). The highest arch of the sculpture looks like it used to have a swing attached.[RoadsideAmerica.com Team, 12/29/2008]
