Pyramid of Valle.

Pyramids of Valle

The Pyramids of Valle continue to house the earthly possessions of a hardware store.

Two pyramids.

Pyramids of Valle, AZ

Valle Hardware and Feed appears suddenly on the side of the road on the way up to the Grand Canyon. It's hard to miss as it's the only pair of pyramids near the intersection of Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 180. Once a new age shop built by hand, the new owner is revamping the inside and out both to meet code and to show off the place. They expect it to have an entirely new face within the year.

The front pyramid, a three-story building, houses the hardware shop while the back pyramid, once a greenhouse, acts as part of the shop's storage. The greenhouse also includes a former lap pool transformed to a murky, shallow fish pond, though it's generally not shown to the public. The staff were quite friendly and willing to talk about the history of the place and plans for the future, and if you're needing a wrench on the way to the Grand Canyon, you might as well stop at the pyramids of Valle, AZ.

They're just south of Bedrock City, and perhaps of interest because there are two of them -- but no Ancient Egyptian hoohah going on within.
