Bunyan and Headless Babe. Klamath, California - Trees of Mystery

If you have visited here, you might enjoy a photo of the "headless" Babe, which occurred during several months of 2008 after the water-soaked cement head crashed to the ground.

On the way home from Oregon on our spring break my boyfriend and I almost drove past Paul! But how is that possible? Babe's head is gone and covered with a blue tarp but Paul Bunyan stands tall and proud. [Claire Bailey, 04/07/2008]

[RA: Babe's head was finally reattached on April 16.]

Babe without head. Klamath, California - Paul Bunyan and Babe - Babe's Head

There are news reports that the head fell off the giant Babe the Blue Ox statue at Trees of Mystery yesterday. It's being blamed on rain damage that has rotted the internal support, causing the head to peel off and fall snout down onto the paved walkway next to the parking lot.

The attraction plans to restore the statue. When we asked if they really expected to have Babe repaired by Christmas 2007, the folks at Trees of Mystery answered with an emphatic "Definitely!" [RoadsideAmerica.com Team, 11/24/2007]
