Marion, Virginia - Fort Mystery - Vague Recollections I remember driving past Fort Mystery many times as a child because it was located near
Hungry Mother State Park, which my family frequently visited. Across the street was a giant chair, too. We never went in, so I only saw the wooden walls of the fort. Recently I drove by and saw the walls still stand along with the old sign. It appears to be a recycling business now. Unfortunately the big chair is gone.
