We found a new shoe tree north of the site of the old Shoe Tree that's no longer there. It's about 3/4-1 mile north on the west side of highway 97, north of Shaniko, Oregon.[Ron Montgomery, 08/30/2011]

There is a great shoe tree at milepost 53 just 3-4 miles north of Shaniko, Oregon on Hwy. 97. Shaniko is Oregon's most famous ghost town. There is one large tree with many, many pairs of shoes.
