Watch out! This is on a one-way multi-lane street. We tried to double back after turning into a fast food place and realized we were coming up the wrong way! Yikes.

This can't be just a drive-by as the full effect of his caveman awesomeness can only be appreciated in his park-like setting.

Grants Pass Caveman

The first caveman statue was erected in 1956 at the North end of town on an island between 6th and another street to the east of 6th. This statue was destroyed, and for many years the replacement statue was erected beside the visitor's center. I think it was the best version of the three statues that I know of.

The Caveman.

Grants Pass Caveman

A local business paid the $2,500 to fix the Caveman [post-arson attack], and after some town debate, he is back in his rightful spot, at the entrance to town on 6th and Morgan St. He is located right outside the Town's Visitors Center, and he welcomes all to Grants Pass. He looks great, just like brand new.
