Visitor Tips and News About Louie the Lumberjack Statue
When I went thru Flagstaff he was there right next to Granny's Closet. We had dinner at Granny's too.[David Kamada, 05/29/2010]
Seems to be a replacement of the old wood-carved woodsman. Perhaps this one is fiberglass?
As of May 2010 still not back from painting. Bummer.[Dave, 05/17/2010]
Louie is a 10-foot-tall, 990-pound lumberjack statue, made of cedar, that has stood outside one of Flagstaff's oldest restaurants for decades. The wood is cracking and needs a new paint job. So Wally Baird has taken him home and is restoring him, including giving him a new axe. He is due back at the restaurant, Granny's Closet, in August 2009.[Jay, 06/20/2009]
