Casey Jones Home, Railroad & Museum
There's a locomotive to climb on, a toy room, and a TV that plays train cartoons. Casey Jones was a real train engineer immortalized in song, film, and television.
[Joe Kleinsmith, 06/20/2017]Wonderful stop on our trip! Train-loving boy was wildly happy to see the train toys and climb on the replica Casey engine. General store across the way was fun for our girl. Would do again.

The country store at Casey Jones Village has amazing fried green tomatoes! Try them!

We stop here every year on our way through TN. The buffet in the country store is overpriced, but the museum is fun for the kids. Museum recently updated. Clean bathrooms and fun, unique items in the main country store complete with fun candy choices and an ice cream parlor.
Little shops all around parking lot make for a nice break with opportunity for walking during a long car ride. Indian head statues always make for silly photo ops.

I remember stopping at Casey Jones Village almost 30 years ago. It's roughly the same now as it was then, except it looks a bit rundown. It has an old country store, 1800s ice cream and fudge shop with an old time candy store plus a restaurant with a buffet. There is also a museum that pays tribute to Casey Jones. Jones was a famous local railroad hero who died heroically more than a hundred years ago while saving the lives of everyone on his train. They have a museum in his honor with real train cars. There is also a hotel next door that has rail cars that have been turned into rooms.
