Houston, Texas - Beer Can House

I work for The Savvy Traveler on NPR. I called the people at the Beer Can House trying to arrange a visit, left a jolly message, and received a call back a few days later from the angriest man I've ever come across, telling me in no uncertain terms that I wasn't welcome. He was so angry he could scarcely catch his breath. But he never told me why he was furious, he was just blazing furious. I wouldn't go within twenty miles of the place now, and you might want to advise tourists of the same. [Cash Peters, 10/01/2000]

[RA: ALERT TO ALL TOURISTS: Avoid getting Beer Can House residents angry.
ALERT TO ALL TOURIST ATTRACTIONS: Please be nice to the Savvy Traveler, and you might be featured on their show! If you are nasty to the Savvy Traveler, you will be shunned. ]
