A kooky lobster statue welcomes guests to the Taste of Maine restaurant in Woolwich. The restaurant is celebrating its 40th anniversary this summer. A gigantic inflatable lobster is literally covering the roof of the building, but it won't be up there for much longer. Still, while it's there, it makes it easier to find this kooky sculpture because you'll see the giant inflatable lobster about a half-mile out.

Quite the whimsical roadside sculpture, Mainer C. Lobster appears to be staring down all traffic headed north on Highway 1! He's nicely kept up and appears to have been recently painted. Also, check out the fisherman holding a lobster who stands over the front door of the restaurant.

Looks like Mainer C. Lobster has a fresh coat of paint. Easy to spot along Route 1.

As wonderful as we could have hoped. Sitting outside the "Taste of Maine" restaurant just north of Bath, ME on Route 1 is Mainer. There is even a Mainer magnet available inside the restaurant's gift shop! Much to our surprise, the restaurant property also featured an Osprey nest and had a tv monitor in the foyer to watch the newly hatched chicks.
