Pirate Adventure.

Captain Cline's Pirate Adventure

Most of my family lives in VA Beach, so I visit frequently. This attraction used to be outer-space themed, which is why a UFO is still crashed into the building :)

I think most of the characters in the ride were either recycled or re-painted to fit the pirate theme (the three-eyed pirate, for instance).

Pirate Ghost Ride.

Captain Cline's Pirate Adventure

My friend and I (who is the best friend of all time!) vacationed in VA Beach and saw the Pirate Adventure attraction after reading about it on RoadsideAmerica.com.

If you're willing to pay the $6 for a 5 minute ride with a few screams, then it's totally worth it. You get in a roller coaster car and see mannequin pirates that get dangerously close to your car. While you're busy looking at what might fall on you (it's kinda rickety), then a REAL person will sneak up behind your car and yell... and you in turn yelling as a result.

It was a good laugh and a nice break up to our night.

Cap'n Cline's Pirate Adventure

My wife and I stayed in Virginia Beach for 4 days on our honeymoon and every night we walked down Atlantic Ave. we passed by this dark ride attraction. At $6 it is a little pricey, but on our last night we decided to do it. In addition to the large marquee out front, there is a UFO crashed into the side of the building...very odd. The entrance is adorned with the usual pirate flair; nets, Jolly Rogers, and a animatronic talking pirate...I'm assuming it's Cap'n Cline.

The ride itself is a traditional dark ride with various pirate-related scares, displays, animatronics, etc. Standouts are the giant T-Rex, Octopus, and Anacondas that come out to scare you. At the end keep an eye out for the 3-eyed pirate.

Overall I would say you could do worse than plunking your $6 for this adventure. The fun house and mirror maze aren't worth it and there's only so many gift shops you can visit before you want to go on an adventure...with pirates...trust me it's worth it!

Cline... why does that name seem so familiar?
