Uriah, Alabama - Shoe Tree

Tree covered in shoes of all description on a dirt road outside of Uriah, near the Alabama River. I could find no one who knew what it was about. I saw a tree on Hwy 131 in Kalkaska, Mi. and this led me to the Shoe Trees on RoadsideAmerica.com. What a sight to come upon. A tree covered in old shoes! I still do not know the reason, if there is one. [riley taylor, 09/08/2009]
