Tesla's Laboratory: Off Limits
The "abandoned" site is located right next to residences and a fire department. There are always lights on at night at the entrance and there will occasionally be a guard in a car or in the very weathered guard booth out front.
If you want to get on to the actual property I would advise going in (at night) from the Randall Rd section because most of the property is on a main highway with heavy traffic. All of the buildings remain (except the big tower) and most are in good shape. It is said to be abandoned but I was there recently and one of the old buildings had full lighting on inside. Truly a mystery. Given the history of Tesla and his experiments I'd say this site is a very cool thing to see!
