Wonder Well

Once the biggest artesian well east of the Mississippi, it is now dry. Found while drilling for oil in 1903, the Wonder Well was listed in "Ripley's Believe It or Not". It became a tourist attraction, health promoting supplier of sulphur-smelling water, a place to buy fireworks, and a major wetland for migrating waterfowl as it pumped out up to 2 million gallons of water per day. It is now for sale, just in case you ever wanted your own piece of historical Roadside America. The ability to sell fireworks is grandfathered into the deed, as a bonus.

Building was demolished in July 2014.
