Littleton, New Hampshire - World's Longest Candy Counter and Pollyanna As I took the aerial tram up Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire for a quick hike around the rim trail I struck up a conversation with the tram driver, Jim. He asked where I was off to next and I told him I was open to suggestions as road trips should have some wiggle room. He told me that his home of Littleton was worth a stop off for lunch, and after apologizing for some of the construction on Main Street he proceeded to tell me the reasons I should go. After hearing that this is the home town of the author of
Pollyanna, complete with a statue in front of the public library, AND boasts Chutters, Guinness book of world record winner of the title World's longest candy counter, how could I resist?! While Littleton may not be the fanciest town you'll come across in New England, it is one of the friendliest and was worth a drive down Main Street.
