Cleburne, Texas - Rotten Old Merman

The Layland Museum does have an old Merman. When you walk in, it is located in the display on the right on the bottom glass shelf. It is sitting in a glass fish bowl. The sign says it is in the "original fish bowl." The museum also has Indian artifacts - mostly arrowheads and other neat old stuff. They are remodeling so I couldn't see but half of the museum. The town museum is located in a grand, columned old library building just off the town square. I recall that they had a small fishbowl which contained a pretty rotten old Merman. I had to ask to see it, as I don't think it was on display. A friend who had lived in Cleburne understood my affection for such things, and told me about it.
