Silver City Ghost Town.

Silver City Ghost Town

During the late 1960s and early 1970s the Mills family hauled in local Kern Valley structures to this site along Lake Isabella Blvd. in Bodfish, Ca. The buildings came from mining camps such as Keyesville, Whiskey Flat, Old Isabella Claraville, Hot Springs, Miracle, Southfork, etc. In 1990 the Corlew family purchased the property and restored the site to its current state of "arrested decay." The site represents how the local gold outposts may have looked after the gold ran out and the miners moved on.

Silver City Ghost Town is listed on dozens of film location scout websites, as well as with The California Film Commission, the Los Angeles and The Kern County Film Commission.

Many believe that Silver City is haunted by spirits from that past and the site is listed in the "National Directory of Haunted Places."
