The Big Green Adirondack Chairs were part of a larger community building project started in a crack neighborhood in south Minneapolis, mentoring teenagers -- often labeled as gang members -- providing them with job skills and employment to show the power of young people when given the chance. Six giant chairs were built and placed temporarily at locations across the Twin Cities. Only two remain: this one at High Bridge Park and the other at Bde Maka Ska Park in Minneapolis. The High Bridge Chair has been rebuilt once and may need some more attention in the coming years.

[Ashley Craig, 09/24/2012]The large green chair -- does not move. That's bogus. I live blocks away and drive by it every day. It is cool. It is big. It is green. At the base of the High Bridge, near the intersection of Cliff Street and Smith Avenue.
[Mathias Baden, 10/21/2011]This chair is the same chair seen in Minneapolis at West Lake Street north of Lake Calhoun. It makes its rounds between places every year. It's purchased by someone new every few years and moved to a new location, usually to attract customers. If they wanted to attract customers perhaps they need better products? Paint the chair red? Just sayin'.
