The former county jail is now the county museum. According to the experts in Hillsboro, Elvis was imprisoned in their slammer for a night on a drunk and disorderly charge.

This was really an interesting stop; the jail cells were through the kitchen up a few stairs. The house is two stories -- make sure to go upstairs too. We almost missed it. The three volunteers at the entrance reminded us.

It looks like a house because the sheriff and his family lived in the front. and the prisoners were locked up in the cell block in the back. In service from 1893 until 1983; now a museum run by the county.
