Tours are no longer available. There is a wonderful observation desk where you can see employees packaging the ice cream. The parlor offers pretty generous scoops of blue bell ice cream for a dollar!

They won't let you take pictures inside the factory, so don't even think about trying. They say it's not because they are trying to hide anything; they just want to respect their employees' privacy. The tour was six dollars, but worth it. It may not be the best for children because it's a lot of "look at the pipe over there," but it was good for adults. Our guide was very knowledgeable and handled a crowd well. Don't forget the free ice cream at the end.
