An odd fountain statue with perpetually drippy footwear stands at the edge of a large pond in the rose garden of Hershey Gardens.

Boy with the Leaking Boot

If you're visiting Hershey Gardens with kids they have a fun and simple scavenger hunt in the children's garden called "the Great Garden Adventure." Kids find answers to simple questions at stations all over the area. At the end the kids get to pick out a new garden tool to take home (my daughter picked out a blue rake.). Cost is $10 on top of gardens entrance fee, but it was totally worth it to get the kids excited about visiting a botanical site. It was even fun for us adults to help find the answers.

Check out the big stone slippers in Spa-tacular Garden! And there's a very cool sundial that uses your shadow to point to the time.

Boy with the Leaking Boot

The Boy with the Leaking Boot statue now stands at the edge of a large pond in a rose garden in Hershey Gardens, 170 Hotel Road, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The park is just south of the Hotel Hershey (100 Hotel Road) in that city.

There is another Boy and his Leaking Boot statue in the second floor dining room of the Virginia House hotel at 53 Orkney Springs Road, Orkney Springs, Virginia, 22845.

First seen in an old postcard; most Boy with the Leaking Boot statues seem to find a willing pond to aerate, but this one is letting the main fountain do the work.
