Kadie the Cow's sidekick named in Best Buy contest
In Columbus, Georgia, the little calf that magically appeared next to Kadie the Cow last year has been named "Bebe." Both cow statues stand in front of the Columbus Best Buy store, sponsor of the contest. Kadie is named after Kinnett Dairy, which stood on the property for decades.... Kadie the Cow

Although the old building that housed the dairy was torn down, Kadie the Cow was put back in place. She now stands in front of the Best Buy store on Manchester Expressway. She looks as though she has been cleaned up quiet a bit but that is only personal speculation. I was glad to see her returned to view -- she was a major landmark from my childhood memories. Kadie the Cow

Kadie, or Katie (I suspect "Kadie", since she's in front of Kinnett Dairy), in Columbus, Georgia, faces an uncertain future, according to local residents. The Kinnett Dairy has been purchased by a "German Company", and no one knows what will become of the cow.

She is, as suspected, identical to the Wisconsin cows, bearing a "Sculptured Advertising, Sparta, Wisc." plate and a serial number of 105, making her slightly older than her sister Bessie (100) and slightly younger than Chatty Belle (109). [Craig Thom, 06/03/2001]
