Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Gulf Tower Weather Beacon

The Gulf Tower downtown has a stepped pyramid at the top with a lighted beacon that forecasts the weather. If I have it right, it's red for fair and blue for rain. Blinking and steady supposedly mean something also (falling temps?) It's visible from the Golden Triangle and beyond. [Paul, 03/12/2010]
