Visitor Tips and News About Yogi Bear Honey Fried Chicken Statues
10 min off 95. Kids loved it! Sits in front grass area of trailer park with lots of tall grass. We parked across from statues on neighborhood side street and ran across to get pics. Someone mentioned the ranger was missing arms andlegs...he was only missing one arm when we saw him (it's laying in front of yogi...perhaps he upset yogi by sending Cindy to another park?).[CJ, 07/14/2014]
Statue of Yogi, Boo Boo and Ranger Smith are in poor condition. Yogi has "barnacles," and Ranger Smith's arm and leg were missing. Directions were good!![Mary Norvell, 06/29/2012]
They are in a yard of an old trailer park on Springfield Road, off of Highway US 264 in Rocky Mount. They are still in good shape too![Mary Kisner, 06/11/2012]
All the statues from the Yogi Bear Honey Fried Chicken chain that used to be at the Lakewood Truck Stop in Halifax appear to be gone for good. And the last surviving Yogi Bear Honey Fried Chicken restaurant, down in Hartsville, SC, doesn't even have a Yogi statue.
But that doesn't mean you can't still see some of the statues. There's a Yogi, Boo Boo, and Ranger Smith (sadly, no Cindy) in the backyard of a house in Rocky Mount. There was no one home when I went by, so I couldn't ask about their history, but they look like they've been there for a long time.[Dean Jeffrey, 04/26/2010]
