Lead Hill, Arkansas: Ozark Medieval Fortress Ruins
An authentic medieval castle was being constructed using the old methods of back-breaking serf labor. It was supposed to be finished in 2030 -- but closed in 2012. You can still park in the empty lot, walk back to the trees, and see the half-built ruins....

- 1671 Hwy 14 W., Lead Hill, AR
- Directions:
- US Hwy 65 one mile south of the Missouri/Arkansas state line. Turn east onto Hwy 14. Drive 3.5 miles. Hwy 14 makes a sharp left. Drive 9.5 more miles. The entrance to the Fortress will be on the right (south) side.
- Hours:
- Closed. Walk back to the trees and see the ruins.
