Business was booming at the Alferd Packer Memorial Center Snack Eatery. Outside, the only permanent marker says "Book Store." When we asked for directions to the cannibal snack bar, we got some odd looks from the students. They showed us the way to the Memorial Center Snack Facility, but had no apparent knowledge that it was named after a man convicted of murder and cannibalism. Perhaps they thought he was an eccentric benefactor.
Alferd's bust is prominently displayed center aisle as well as wall murals, pictures on the bill of fare and several entres named in his honor. The place seemed clean with fresh selections, however, we opted to dine elsewhere.

While visiting my son at the University of Colorado, I made my way to this absurdly named diner. Although closed for the holiday, I was able to tour the dining room. Everywhere you look, you see America's most famous cannibal, Alferd Packer, staring back at you. His disheveled image is on everything: menus, advertisements, and a mural that gave me the heebee jeebees! Not the most appetizing place for lunch.
