Your readers might appreciate knowing that the Hippie Muffler Man started out life as a statue of Paul Bunyan (he used to hold an axe in his hands) prominently displayed year-round at the Great Danbury Fair in Danbury, Connecticut, until it closed its gates for good in 1981.[Victoria H., 12/04/2013]

The Hippie Muffler Man is still in good shape! He even has a necklace painted on him. While we were visiting him, we were honked at by two real Hippies. The tie dye Muffler Man has been moved from its traditional location on Rt. 42, since the Eden Brook Fish Market has been demolished.
