Driving South from Alamogordo (Roadrunner and Pistachio Nut still there) I was on the way down [US 70] to Las Cruces. On the northbound side of the [highway was a picnic area with what seemed to be a missile sticking out of it. I rubbed my eyes and instantly blamed last night's tequila, but no -- it was there! The locality of the missile base and testing area could provide a clue. Was it donated? Did it go astray and miraculously land right side up and get repainted?
