A big, multi-colored, multi-scoop ice cream cone stood outside of the Velvet Freeze ice cream store in town for 50 years before it was moved to elementary school grounds in 1992.

This is literally in front of an elementary school, along the pickup lane of the driveway. We visited after school was out for summer. It would definitely be easiest to stop here after school hours, on weekends or during the summer. This is also right off old Route 66.
