Cleveland, Ohio - Cleveland Cultural Gardens The Cleveland Cultural Gardens were started in the 1930's to celebrate Cleveland's diverse ethnic groups, not just those of the Soviet bloc. Currently there are 30 gardens and new ones are still being added. Some of the gardens are quite elaborate featuring sculpture, monuments, and stone walkways and stairs. Always open but only view them on foot during the day as this is not the safest area in town. A bike and walking path run the length of the Gardens.

Cleveland, Ohio - Cultural Gardens of the Eastern Bloc I grew up in Cleveland; the Church of the Oil Can has been there a long time. Another site nearby is the cultural gardens along MLK Blvd. North through the park to the lake (Erie). Scattered along the drive are small "gardens" representing a number of different (mostly old Soviet Eastern bloc) countries. And the drive in and of itself is fun, full of twists and barrel-vaulted tunnel bridges.
