Austerlitz, New York: Circle Museum: Bijan's Junk Art

Having just spent a couple of hours walking and talking with Bijan, this art environment is a must see! There are now hundreds of sculptures spread over two connected fields, going up the side of a mountain. We sat in his outdoor living room, made of bathtub chairs, surrounding a bathtub table. Really comfortable (considering I have back problems).

Bijan has been here three-plus decades. I really admire these art environment artists, their DNA, their passion is really amazing!

Bijan Mahmoodi, sculptor of welded steel and paintings, is a trip for the "out of the box" artist adventurers. A dedicated man, who solely lives as an artist, provides a potential collector with landscape art forms that will last for years to come.

At the Circle Museum, there must be over 100 large-scale works of sculpture. BIjan Mahmoodi is the owner of the museum and the artist. Inside the studio is a collection of Bijan's oil paintings.

Using metal, old car parts, and shaped rocks, the artist Bijan (who lives on the property) created beautiful artwork and statues.

There is a front yard and a back yard with dozens of these large structures that catch your eye instantly when you drive by on route 22 NY in Austerlitz NY.
