Ocean City, Maryland - Muffler Man - Pirate

I too was intrigued by the recent article in the Smithsonian. Your web site is great. I recently spent the weekend in Ocean City, MD and located the Pirate version. It is located at 30th Street & Coastal Highway. He stands in front of the Jolly Rogers Amusement Park. [Bryan Musser, 10/28/2000]

I can verify that in Ocean City, Maryland there is a Pirate with a Bunyan face, hands standard configuration holding a cutlass. He stands above the entrance to a small, cheezy entertainment complex called Jolly Roger Amusement Park at 30th St & Coastal Hwy. I've been staring at him for at least 20 years.
