Car on a barn.

1955 Ford in Barn Roof

We didn't have any issues stopping the car on this isolated stretch of road to snap a few pictures of this unique sight. We're geocachers and often find ourselves driving backroads, but this was a spot we had never been to before.

We did not find it. A lot of the barns look new.

Car on a Barn.

1955 Ford in Barn Roof

This is a hoot seeing that old car perched on top of the barn roof! Parked on side of road. Took pics from outside fenced property.

1955 Ford in Barn Roof

I was born in Waynesville, about ten miles west of Wapella. After moving to Indiana when I was two, I spent portions of each summer visiting Waynesville until my early teens. For some reason, this car seems familiar to me. I am sure my Dad or even my Nannie (his neighbor who was like a grandmother to me) took me by there. That would have been between 1980 and 1992. Before seeing the photo I had a picture in my mind of what it looked like, and it matched the photo down to the blue color of the car. So I am certain that I saw it.

Car in barn roof.

1955 Ford in Barn Roof

It appears to be a 1955 Ford Customline Tudor that has been embedded into the roof of an old barn along the side of a back country road.

No idea how long it's been there, but we stumbled upon it September, 2010.

Easily visible from the road. There is a fence around it, but we got out of our car and went up to the fence to get pictures.
