Laser Beam Paintbrushes

The giant laser-beam-projection paintbrushes that were supposed to create a heavenly "Gateway to the Arts" in Las Vegas -- still haven't been turned on. The artist died. Costs skyrocketed. Screw-ups plagued construction. But the city hasn't given up, and it now hopes that the Big Brushes will be ready to paint the nighttime sky by summer.
