Recent TV commercials have announced the closing of longtime Orlando area cheeseball attraction Mystery Fun House (Major Blvd. near Universal). Open since the late seventies, this melange of discarded fad entertainment (old Chuck E Cheese automatons, laser tag, etc.) has existed mainly as a come-on for timeshares and as a cheap alternative to the Big Attractions for locals' birthday parties, etc., and was legendary for such unadvertised attractions as The Mad Crapper (apparently a disgruntled employee who left fecal surprises in children's crawl tubes and other inappropriate places -- like there are *appropriate* places for that ...).
Their game room (chock full of ancient video games) and "Jurassic Mini Golf" will remain open. No word on what may or may not replace the Fun House itself.

A fairly typical old fun house -- a chortling skull greeted visitors. We attempted to shoot video of our pitch-black walk and crawl-thru into the mirrored wizard room. Mystery Fun House was hard-pressed to keep up with the fancy attraction monstrosities built up around Orlando and Kissimmee.
