The Rainmaker Sculpture
A nutty weather-influencing robot, made out of junk, slowly turns in the wind on the outskirts of Point Reyes Station. "The Rainmaker" is a sculpture by Sonoma artist Martin Munson. It's one of 12 public art installations in town. All for sale, they don't have much prospect of permanence...but they're fun to spot while they last in this weekend tourist community along the San Andrea Fault.
When we visited, the Rainmaker seemed to be overdoing his shtick, if judged by west Marin's flooded out roads.
