Very cute water tower is painted to look like an apple.
[Patricia M, 10/19/2012]Not custom apple-shaped, but the stem was added and the painted green leaves and red apple skin enhance the effect on what would have been an unremarkable water tower. Cartoonist Brian Barnett was inspired by the water tower, among other things, when he created his comic strip about small towns, "The Apple Tower," in 2009.
A couple of weekends ago, while out looking at property with my wife and two boys, we got sidetracked (okay, lost) and ended up in Jackson, Ohio. As we approached the main part of the town we all noticed an odd looking water tower. As it turns out, the water tower was shaped and painted like a nice red apple, complete with a stem that pops out of the top. The tower was done up that way for the annual Apple Festival in Jackson.
It was a nice surprise after being cooped up in the van for several hours.
