Madeira Beach, Florida: World's Largest Chicken Wing

It's on the second floor observation deck at Johns Pass Boardwalk, near the Hooters restaurant: 1,037 pounds of chicken wing sculpture. The deck is also a great spot to watch for shore birds and dolphins.

My boyfriend and I saw this giant chicken wing on our vacation last year. We just made the same vacation, and of course had to come back to this same Hooters -- only to find out the giant chicken wing is gone! I asked where it went, and they said it fell off a while ago. There's no news about it that I could find, so I don't know what happened (if it fell off on its own or if weather had a part in it) or if it will ever come back.

This tribute to the popular deep fried delicacy weighs in at 1,037 lbs., according to the accompanying sign. Another sign warns finger food fans (in nine languages) to not climb on or hang on the "World's Largest Wing."

The giant chicken drumstick replica is displayed on the dockside second story deck of a Hooters, part of a complex of souvenir shacks and restaurants at Johns Pass Village retail plaza. The two sided photo op welcomes anyone to pose with it, either standing fisherman's catch-style, or sitting on a Hooters surf board bench or fake bucket of dipping sauce (in three levels of heat).
