Kids loved it! Slippery mud and ice near the cave.

A lot of trails to walk. Caves are just to look in. Bring lots of bug spray -- the mosquitoes are horrible.

Boone's Cave

Boone's Cave Park is notable for having more signs than I've ever seen in a park: every few feet there is another sign about not parking, leaving on time, etc. There were particularly hostile signs in the bathroom (Don't steal the soap or we won't put any more in here for you) and on the information board (If you get locked in, the police will ticket you and remove you without your vehicle, which you can pick up the next day). Notably, not a single sign saying Welcome or Enjoy.

The cave itself is tiny. Legend says that Boone slept there. It's a quirky diversion between historic Salisbury (with James Reid's foot) and all the giant furniture down the road in Greensboro. A pleasant place to stop for a picnic and to marvel at all the hostile signs.

Visitors should ask themselves, What would Daniel Boone do? He wouldn't steal the soap, no sir!
