Dinosaur World

The park has added a whole new playground area, an indoor museum with animatronic dinosaurs at the end, a new gem finding attraction where you sift sand in water for gemstones, and it's about to open a mammoth exhibit area where the old playground was.

Gemstone mining is fairly common, but it's hard to ever tire of robot dinosaurs.

Not only entertaining but educational. The museum has a nice display of fossils. Take the forest trail and see dinosaurs peeking out of the shrubbery at the tourists at every turn. Very campy, and the kids got a nice walk.

Your description is accurate. We visited on a rainy June afternoon and had a really great time. The rain added a particularly "Jurassic" feel to the place. They sold us ponchos for $3 each; these kept the rain off and came in very handy on the rest of our trip. The strangest thing about the rain was that people were hiding under the dinosaurs to stay dry. Coming around the corner to see a nice Hispanic family hiding between the legs of a life size fiberglass T-Rex is not an experience one has every day. The new fossil excavation experience was great fun, and it is roofed over. There were a lot more dinosaurs in the park than I had thought there would be, easily over two dozen, and the park was very well laid out and clean and well maintained. It was very kid friendly, and a nice family adventure.

Just stumbled onto this one near Tampa. Big 5 story high pseudo dinosaur leering at you as you pass. But here - let me quote from the brochure: "Dinosaur World is truly a family attraction devoted to the studies and preservations of the prehistoric Dinosaurs as, THE GIANTS OF THE PAST .... you meet them in a wonderful nature and enjoy the cool shade of the cypress, bay, maple and gum trees. Unique gift items in the gift shop. ....THE WORLD'S LARGEST DINOSAUR ATTRACTION".

Looks like a cluster of mobile homes in the back is where all the crew lives.
