Very easy to find the monument, right off the highway on Main Street. Nice memorial and story.

The legendary Wild Bill Hickok was born in the town now named Troy Grove, IL and a memorial was been erected in his honor. The site is a state historic site in a pleasant park in this tiny town.

The monument is on the block where James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok was born in the home of his parents in 1837. If it was up to us, the statue would be of a toddler waving toy pistols. So perhaps it's best that it wasn't up to us.
