Civil engineer John Roebling invented the first steel rope cables in Saxonburg; he later designed the Brooklyn Bridge, but died after an accident on the bridge site. He's remembered with this 2001 model near his home.

A large model of the Brooklyn Bridge built in 2001 is at the Butler Historical Society. The bridge is built to honor John Roebling, who first produced steel cables in the town, and later designed the Brooklyn Bridge.
