Concrete Man of Citrus County

It stands in front of a business called Spafford's Construction and Remodeling When I stopped and asked about it, I learned that he is known as the "Concrete Man of Citrus County." He was hand carved from a solid block of concrete. He is about 15 feet tall, with painted blue jeans and a yellow golf shirt, and bright red hair. The secretary told me that he has been a fixture in Citrus County for some 50 years. [Janet Lawrence, 06/27/2003]

Statue - Not a Muffler Man

There is definitely a large man in Floral City. However, I question whether or not this is an actual muffler man. He seemed a bit short. I would say no more than 8ft. He was in what appeared to be somebody's front yard. There was no one around at the time I could talk to, but I did manage to get a couple of candid photos. He is quite beaten. I fear his captors have not paid attention to his needs. It is at times like this I wish there was a social services hotline I could call to report such neglect. If this kind of activity continues, I am afraid we are on the heels of yet another extinct tribe of Americanas. [Get Hep, 11/24/2000]
