Pioneer Village.

Pioneer Village and Museum

The Pioneer Village is made up of several log cabins built at different times in different locations across the region and later brought to this site. All of the cabins are set up to depict pioneer life. There is a school, church, post office, jail, blacksmith shop and several houses. There is also a rail car you can walk through and a train depot, along with the first water power turbine.

There is a "historical" historical sign, which was a first for me. The sign talks about a mining site, and was later moved to this site ( I was a little confused but I guess our explanations of history will be history someday). Inside the museum were great displays of a miner cabin, Indian artifacts, ancient rocks and a taxidermy display that included coyote puppies.

I should also mention that I heard a voice in the second story of one of the cabins, but no one was up there or anywhere else around!

The town of Cashmere touts itself as a modern day Mayberry. They also say this is the geographic center of Washington State.

Cashmere also calls itself "Tree City USA"
